Japan's 100 Highest Mountains are simply the top 100 peaks ranked by elevation. Headlined by Mt. Fuji, the list is dominated by summits in the 3,000 m and 2,500 m range, the majority of them concentrated in the high-alpine zones of the Northern Alps (Hida Mountains) and the Southern Alps (Akaishi Mountains).
