Mt. Futago
Mt. Futago (二子山) is a 1,166m peak in Ogano Town, Chichibu District, Saitama Prefecture. Consisting of the twin peaks East Peak and West Peak, it features sharp limestone rocky ridges. In addition to the general course, there is an advanced rocky ridge course, and it is one of Kanto’s leading rocky mountains where thrilling rock climbing can be enjoyed. The rocky ridge walking with a sense of height provides exceptional achievement.
From Seibu-Chichibu Station, take a bus to Ogano Town Office, and transfer to access the Sakamoto Trailhead.
⚠ Access road / traverse trail closure information (as of May 2026)
- Route 299 (Shigasaka Tunnel ~ Sakamoto): Designated as a closed section during heavy rain. Please be aware of impacts on bus operation in bad weather.
- Forest Road Kanayama-Shigasaka Line (vehicle access for Mt. Futago ~ Mt. Ryokami Hatcho-toge traverse) is indefinitely closed due to roadbed collapse. Please be careful when planning a traverse.

The trailhead is “Sakamoto”
When accessing by train, take a bus from Seibu-Chichibu Station, get off at Ogano Town Office, and transfer to the Sakamoto-bound bus.
