Mount Daibosatsu (大菩薩嶺 Daibosatsu-rei) is a 2,057m peak in Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains.
The ridge trail from Daibosatsu Pass to the summit offers spectacular panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and the Southern Alps. As one of the most accessible 100 Famous Mountains from the Tokyo area for a day trip, it is extremely popular with hikers. The fresh green season and autumn foliage are especially recommended.
The mountain can be accessed by bus from JR Kai-Yamato Station to Kaminikkawa-toge.

There are two trailheads: Kaminikkawa-toge and Daibosatsu-toge Tozanguchi.
From Kaminikkawa-toge to the summit: 1 hour 15 minutes.
From Daibosatsu-toge Tozanguchi to the summit: 4 hours 30 minutes.

From JR Kai-Yamato Station, take the Eiwa Kotsu Bus “Daibosatsu Kaminikkawa-toge Line” and get off at Kaminikkawa-toge.
Travel time: 41 min | Fare: 1,020 yen

From JR Enzan Station, take the Koshu City Bus “Daibosatsu-toge Tozanguchi Line” or “Nihongi via Daibosatsu-no-Yu Line” and get off at Daibosatsu-toge Tozanguchi.
Fare: 300 yen
Travel time: 27 min (Tozanguchi Line) / 23 min (Nihongi Line)
Operating period: Year-round (closed Dec 31 – Jan 3)
