Mt. Bonoore (棒ノ折山) is a 969m peak on the border of Okutama Town in Tokyo and Hanno City in Saitama Prefecture.
The deep gorge stream climb is fun, and from the summit a grand view of the Kanto Plain unfolds. Spring fresh greenery and autumn foliage are beautiful, and after descending, soaking in the natural hot springs at Sawarabi-no-Yu to soothe fatigue is also a welcome point.
The common access is to take a route bus from Hanno Station to the Nora Naguri / Sawarabi-no-Yu bus stop.

For the trailhead, it is recommended to take the bus from Hanno Station and get off at Nora Naguri / Sawarabi-no-Yu. To the summit is 2 hours 30 minutes.
From the Okutama direction, take a bus from Kawai Station and get off at Kamihinata; from there to the summit is 2 hours.

As the trail from Sawarabi-no-Yu is this mountain’s feature, a round trip from Okutama is not particularly recommended.
