Mt. Bonoore (棒ノ折山), also known as Bonorei (棒ノ嶺), is a 969m mountain on the border of Okutama Town (Tokyo) and Hanno City (Saitama). The mountain is known for its fun gorge scrambling route along a stream. The summit offers panoramic views stretching all the way to the Seibu Dome. After descending, you can soak in the natural hot springs at Sawarabi-no-Yu (さわらびの湯), conveniently located right at the bus stop.

The recommended approach is from Hanno Station (飯能駅) by bus to Nora Naguri / Sawarabi-no-Yu (ノーラ名栗・さわらびの湯). From there, the summit is about 2 hours 30 minutes. From the Okutama side, take a bus from Kawai Station (川井駅) to Kamihinata (上日向), then hike about 2 hours to the summit. The gorge route from Sawarabi-no-Yu is the highlight of this mountain, so an out-and-back from Okutama is not particularly recommended.
