Chogadake

Chogadake is amountain located in the southeastern part of the Northern Alps,with an elevation of 2,677m.Extending south from the main ridge of the Jonen Mountain Range, the summit is renowned for its views of the Yari-Hotaka mountain range.
The main approaches are “climbing via the Nagakabe Ridge from Kamikochi (Tokusawa)” or “climbing from the Mitsumata Trailhead in Azumino City via Mameuchi-daira“.
Previously, no bus service was available to the nearest Mitsumata Trailhead, requiring a taxi. However, from 2025,MitsumataTrailhead Trial serviceBus(reservations are required) operates mainly on weekends, improving accessibility.

2. Going: Shin-Shimashima Sta. → Kamikochi Bus Terminal

Alpico Kotsu “Matsumoto/Shin-Shimashima ⇔ Kamikochi” route bus. Matsumoto Sta. to Shin-Shimashima Sta., take the Alpico Railway Kamikochi Line (convenient(Approx. 30min／One way710 yen).

3. Going: Sawayaka Shinshu-go (Express Bus to Kamikochi)

From major cities to Kamikochi direct boundBus. All services are reservation required , service (refer to calendar for schedule).

4. Return: Mitsumata 1st Parking → JR Hotaka Sta.

From Mitsumata 1st Parking, take the trial bus back to JR Hotaka Station (reservation required, cash only).
Season: Weekends, holidays, and select dates from Jul 19 – Oct 13, 2025
Fare: 2,000 yen one way
