Mt. Kashimayari
Mt. Kashimayari (鹿島槍ヶ岳) is a 2,889m famous peak in the Ushiroya-tateyama Range straddling Toyama and Nagano Prefectures.
Alongside Mt. Tsurugi, Mt. Tateyama, and Mt. Karamatsu, it is a mountain where the Kakune-sato Glacier — one of the few existing glaciers in Japan — has been confirmed, and is one of the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains. The beautiful twin-peak form is also popular. Summer alpine plants are also highlights.
The common access is via bus from Shinano-Omachi Station or Nagano Station to Ougizawa, then climbing via Mt. Jii.
This page summarizes access (public transportation) to Ougizawa Station, the base for Mt. Jii Trailhead, the main trailhead of Mt. Kashimayari.
