空木岳

Mt. Utsugi(うつぎだけ) (空木岳) is a 2,864m mountain straddling Komagane City and Iijima Town in Nagano Prefecture, and is one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains.
It is the second highest peak in the Central Alps (Kiso Mountains) after Mt. Kisokoma, and is renowned for its white granite ridgeline and expansive panoramic views. The most popular route ascends via the Ikeyama Ridge, starting from Komagaike and following a forest road to the summit.

The trailhead is accessed via Komagaike bus stop. Take a bus from JR Komagane Station towards the Chuo Alps Ropeway and get off at Komagaike.

Take the Chuo Alps Sightseeing Bus (Ina Bus) bound for the Komagatake Ropeway from JR Komagane Station and get off at Komagaike bus stop. From Komagaike, walk via the Ikeyama Forest Road to the Ikeyama Ridge trailhead.
