Kisokomagatake

Mt. Kisokomagatake is a 2,956m mountain in Nagano Prefecture and the highest peak of the Central Alps. The Senjojiki Cirque at around 2,650m elevation is accessible via the Komagatake Ropeway (Shirabidaira Station to Senjojiki Station, approx. 7 min), which operates year-round (with maintenance closures), allowing mountain climbing and sightseeing throughout the four seasons.

This page shows how to reach Shirabidaira Station (the ropeway base station) by train and bus (Ina Bus, Komagatake Ropeway Line).

*The section from Suganodai to Shirabidaira is closed to private vehicles. Please use the route bus from Suganodai Bus Center. Parking: 800 yen/day for regular cars.
*During peak periods (summer holidays, autumn foliage weekends, etc.), buses and the ropeway are extremely crowded. Plan with extra time.

From the bus stop in front of JR Iida Line Komagane Station, take the Ina Bus “Komagatake Ropeway Line” to Shirabidaira Station.
