Mt. Fuji (富士山, Fujisan) stands at 3,776m on the border of Yamanashi and Shizuoka Prefectures. It is Japan’s highest peak and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the climbing season (typically early July to early September), the mountain welcomes hundreds of thousands of climbers.
There are four main trailheads on Mt. Fuji: Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station (Yoshida Trail), Subashiri-guchi, Gotemba-guchi, and Fujinomiya-guchi. Access to the Trailhead
1. Going: Gotemba Sta. → Gotemba-guchi Shin-gogome
From the Fujisan-guchi bus stop at JR Gotemba Station, take the Fujikyu Mobility bus bound for Mizugatsuka Park and get off at “Gotemba-guchi Shin-gogome.”
