Mt. Goryu
Mt. Goryu (五竜岳) is a 2,814m famous peak connected to the main peak group of the Ushiroya-tateyama Range in the Northern Alps. The sharp rocky ridge, grand views, and flower fields are attractions, and it is also selected as one of the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains. The most popular approach is the course that goes up to Alps-daira on the Hakuba Goryu Telecabin, and via the Tomi Ridge (Ko-Tomi ~ Naka-Tomi ~ O-Tomi ~ Nishi-Tomi ~ Shiratake) aims for the summit. Since elevation can be gained by gondola, the feature is that a wide range of plans from day trip to mountain hut stay and traverse are easy to put together.
2026 Season: Saturday, June 20 ~ Sunday, October 18, daily operation
The Telecabin (gondola) at Hakuba Goryu Escal Plaza operates daily June 20 ~ October 18, 2026. 6/6-7, 6/13-14 are weekend-only operation. For 2026 detailed times of the free shuttle bus (JR Kamishiro Station ⇔ Escal Plaza) and Mainichi Alpen-go, please check Hakuba Goryu official Green Season.
