Mt. Gozen

Mt. Gozen (御前山) is a 1,405m peak in Okutama, Tokyo. One of the Okutama Sanzan, in spring the splendid katakuri (dog-tooth violet) colonies have earned it a place among the “100 Mountains of Flowers.” A quiet mountain walk surrounded by natural beech and konara oak forests can be enjoyed. The autumn foliage is also magnificent on this mountain of silence.
From Okutama Station on the JR Ome Line, take a bus toward Okutama Lake. There are multiple courses, such as Obuna Ridge and Tochiyori-zawa.

It is counted among the 100 Famous Mountains of Kanto and 100 Mountains of Flowers.

Access to the Mt. Gozen trailhead is typically by bus from Okutama Station to the Okutama Lake bus stop, and after descending, returning to Okutama Station from the Sakaibashi bus stop.
