大山

Mt. Oyama is a 1,252m mountain located on the border of Isehara, Hadano, and Atsugi cities in Kanagawa Prefecture. It is easily accessible from Shinjuku via a single Odakyu Line train and is one of Kanagawa’s most popular hiking destinations.

The two main trailheads are Oyama Cable (大山ケーブル) and Yabitsu Pass (ヤビツ峠). The most popular route uses the Oyama Cable Car.

From Afuri Shrine Lower Station (阿夫利神社下社), where the cable car arrives, it takes about 1 hour 10 minutes to reach the summit. Without the cable car, it takes about 2 hours 10 minutes. From Yabitsu Pass, the summit is about 1 hour 10 minutes.
