Mt. Yamizo (八溝山) is a 1,022m peak straddling Ibaraki and Fukushima Prefectures and the highest peak in Ibaraki Prefecture.

It has been an object of mountain worship since antiquity; Yamizo-mine Shrine, dedicated to the deity of bountiful harvests, stands at the summit, and Nichirinji Temple is at the 8th Station.

This page introduces access to the Jaketchi (蛇穴) bus stop trailhead and its timetable.
From the Jaketchi bus stop to the summit is about 3 hours on foot.

From JR Hitachi-Daigo Station, board the Ibaraki Kotsu “Jaketchi-bound” bus and get off at the Jaketchi bus stop.

Weekend service is on Saturdays only; there is no service on Sundays and holidays.
