The Ome Hills (青梅丘陵) are a hilly area stretching east-west in the Okutama area of Ome City, Tokyo. Centered on Mt. Raiden (494m), one of the high points, it is a long trail with gentle, low-mountain undulations, with the appeal of “good railway access” for walking from station to station. There are many branches en route down to town, allowing you to adjust the distance to your fitness or the weather. With viewpoints such as Yagura-dai, seasonal flowers, and autumn foliage among many highlights, it is ideal for beginner-to-intermediate hiking.

Trail Information (as of May 2026)

Course highlights

  • The classic is the traverse course starting on foot from JR Ikusabata Station, passing Mt. Raiden – Mt. Sanpo – Yagura-dai, and descending to JR Ome Station.
  • Benches and pavilions are dotted along the course. Escape (midway exit) is also easy, and the maintained conditions make it walkable for families and beginners.
  • Toilets are available at Ikusabata Station / Ome Station and other stations along the line. Water sources are few, so prepare drinks at the stations.
