Mt. Kobushigatake (甲武信ヶ岳 Kobushi-ga-take) is a 2,475-meter peak straddling the borders of Yamanashi, Saitama, and Nagano Prefectures. The mountain’s name is derived from the first characters of the old province names Kai (甲), Musashi (武), and Shinano (信). It is one of the 100 Famous Mountains of Japan.
When using public transport, the trailheads are Nishizawa Keikoku Iriguchi (Yamanashi side) and Azusayama bus stop leading to Moukidaira Trailhead (Nagano side). The out-and-back route from Nishizawa Keikoku Iriguchi is recommended.

From Enzan Station on the JR Chuo Main Line, take the “Kubodaira / Nishizawa Keikoku Line” bus and get off at Nishizawa Keikoku Iriguchi.

From Shinano-Kawakami Station on the JR Koumi Line, take the Kawakami Village community bus bound for “Kawabatashita” and get off at “Azusayama.” From Azusayama bus stop, walk approximately 1 hour to Moukidaira Trailhead.
