Mt. Takagawayama (たかがわやま, 976m) on the border of Otsuki City and Tsuru City, Yamanashi, is the 11th-rank peak of the Shurei Fugaku Twelve Views. Beginner-friendly at under 1,000 m, the summit nonetheless offers a 360° panorama of Mt. Fuji, Mt. Mitsutoge, Mt. Mishotai, and the Southern Alps.

The Hatsukari Stn → summit → Tanokura Stn / Kasei Stn / Otsuki Stn traverse (descent station selectable) is popular. Beginner ★★・distance ~6 km・elevation gain 530 m・action time ~3-4 hours (day hike). Combining JR Chuo Line and Fujikyu Railway, this is a standard “station-to-summit” model, accessible as a day-hike from Shinjuku.

🚉 10 min walk from JR Hatsukari Station, multiple descent options, beginner-friendly: From JR Chuo Line Hatsukari Station, 10 min walk to trailhead; descent options: Fujikyu Tanokura Station (Matsuba/Nakatani course, 100-110 min) / Kasei Station (Furujuku course, 100 min) / JR Otsuki Station (Musubiyama traverse, 160 min). The summit accommodates ~50 people with a view-direction plate, a popular beginner peak with a stunning Mt. Fuji panorama.
⚠️ Out-and-back possible but traverse is standard — no water sources: A simple Hatsukari Stn → summit out-and-back is possible, but the traverse (descent to Tanokura / Kasei / Otsuki) is the classic choice. No water sources on the trail; carry at least 1 L. Heat caution in summer. Winter (Dec-Feb) has snow / ice but climbing is possible with light crampons.
