Mt. Kinunumayama is a 2,141m mountain in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture. Kinunuma, the alpine marsh spreading on the north side of the summit, is a high-altitude moor at approximately 2,020m with over 50 ponds dotted across it. It is known as a rare wetland situated at a higher elevation than Oze.
There are two main public transport approaches: the Oku-Kinu (Meotobuchi) side from Tobu Kinugawa Onsen Station by bus to Meotobuchi, and the Oze (Oshimizu) side from Jomo-Kogen or Numata Station by bus to Tokura/Oshimizu (for approaches via Ozenuma or traverse routes).
Access to the Trailhead
1. Going: Kinugawa Onsen Sta. → Meotobuchi
From Tobu Railway Kinugawa Onsen Station, take the Kinugawa Onsen – Meotobuchi shared bus and get off at the last stop, Meotobuchi.

2. Going: Jomo-Kogen / Numata Sta. → Oshimizu
From Joetsu Shinkansen Jomo-Kogen Station or JR Joetsu Line Numata Station, take the Kan-Etsu Kotsu Bus (Kamata Line: Jomo-Kogen/Numata – Tokura – Oshimizu). Buses from Jomo-Kogen are limited, so if using the Shinkansen, it is recommended to transfer at Takasaki Station to the Joetsu Line and go to Numata Station instead.
