Mt. Kurobegorō (Kurobegorōdake, 黒部五郎岳, 2,840 m) straddles the Toyama–Gifu prefectural border. One of the 100 Famous Mountains of Japan, its defining feature is the vast cirque (U-shaped valley) sculpted by glaciers just below the summit. The cirque, with its alpine meadow, is among the most beautiful sights in the Northern Alps. It anchors the Ura-Gin’za traverse and the West Gin’za Diamond Course.
The shortest approach is JR Toyama → Toyama Chihō Railway Arimineguchi Station → Natsuyama Bus (Arimine Line) to Oritate. From Oritate, the summit is about 9 hours via Tarōdaira and Kitanomata-dake (standard 2-night plan).

[Natsuyama Bus (Arimine Line) operating period and reservations (as of May 2026)]
The Natsuyama Bus to Oritate typically runs from mid-July to late September; reservation is mandatory and opens one month in advance.
