Access to the Trailhead
The nearest trailheads are Ichinosawa Trailhead and Mimata Trailhead. From Ichinosawa Trailhead to the summit of Mt. Jonendake takes 5 hours 45 minutes, and from Mimata Trailhead it takes 6 hours 20 minutes. Unfortunately, no buses run to either trailhead, so you will need to take a taxi from Hotaka Station.

If traveling by train and bus, effective routes include coming via Mt. Chogadake from Kamikochi, or via Mt. Tsubakuro from Nakabusa Onsen. See the linked pages for detailed route information.
