Mt. Kentoku (乾徳山)

Mount Kentoku (乾徳山 Kentoku-san) is a 2,031-meter-high mountain located in Yamanashi.

As you ascend from the trailhead, the atmosphere of the course changes dramatically, making it interesting. Near the summit, you can enjoy climbing through a rocky area with chains amidst high-altitude scenery, making this mountain highly recommended.

Buses to the Kentoku trailhead are available from both Enzan Station (塩山駅) and Yamanashi-shi Station (山梨市駅). The hike from the trailhead to the summit takes about 3 hours and 45 minutes. If you’re traveling from the Tokyo area using public transportation, be aware that the timing can be a bit tight.
