Mt. Momokura (百蔵山)

Mt. Momokura (百蔵山 Momokura-yama) is a 1003m mountain located within the Ōtsuki (大月) city limits in Yamanashi Prefecture (山梨県). It is one of the Yamanashi City (山梨市)-designated “Twelve Scenic Views of Mt. Fuji” due to its excellent landscape overlooking Mt. Fuji (富士山), and is also counted among the Yamanashi Hundred Mountains.

There are two starting points for climbing Hyakuzōyama: the Fukusenji-mae (福泉寺前) bus stop and the Hyakuzōyama trailhead. For those with physical stamina, we recommend starting from Ōgiyama (扇山), one of the Twelve Scenic Views, and traversing to Hyakuzōyama, then descending to Saruhashi Station (猿橋駅).

Take a bus (various types available) bound for the direction of Fukusenji-mae (福泉寺前) from JR Saruhashi Station (JR猿橋駅), and get off at Fukusenji-mae.

2. [Outward] Saruhashi Station (猿橋駅) → Hyakuzōyama Trailhead (百蔵山登山口)

Take a bus to Horiike Manufacturing Front (堀江製作所前) from JR Saruhashi Station (JR猿橋駅), and get off at the Hyakuzōyama trailhead.

From Fukusenji-mae Bus Stop, take a bus bound for Uenohara (上野原) or Uenohara Station (上野原駅), and get off at Saruhashi Station.

4. [Returning] Momokura-yama Tozanguchi Bus Stop (百蔵山登山口バス停) → Saruhashi Station (猿橋駅)

From the Momokura-yama Tozanguchi trailhead, take a bus bound for “Chūō Hospital Front” (「中央病院前行」) or “Saruhashi Station” (「猿橋駅行」) and get off at Saruhashi Station.
