Mt. Kumotori-yama (雲取山)

Mt. Kumotori (雲取山, Kumotori-yama) is a mountain with an elevation of 2,017.13 meters, located on the borders of Tokyo (東京都), Saitama (埼玉県), and Yamanashi (山梨県) prefectures in Japan.

For those accessing the mountain by train and bus, the most convenient routes are from the Okutama (奥多摩) side at Kamozawa Bus stop(鴨沢) and from the Saitama (埼玉) side at Mitsumine (三峰). It takes approximately 5 hours and 20 minutes to reach the summit from Kamozawa, and the same amount of time from Mitsumine Shrine (三峯神社). There is also another route that involves trekking from the ‘Omatsuri’ (お祭) area along the Okutama River (奥多摩川) and passing through Sanjo no Yu (三条の湯).

While day hikes are possible, Mt. Kumotori is often chosen for first-time overnight camping trips due to its accessibility and natural beauty.
