Mt. Hakusan is a 2,702m peak straddling Ishikawa and Gifu Prefectures, and one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains. Along with Mt. Fuji and Mt. Tateyama, it is counted among Japan’s Three Holy Mountains.

The main trailhead is Bettodeai, accessible via Ichinose (shuttle bus connection) from Kanazawa/Matto area, or via the Hakusan Tozan Express shared taxi from Komatsu Station.

1. Going: Kanazawa Sta. → Ichinose → Bettodeai

From JR Kanazawa Station (or Matto Station), take the Hakusan Tozan Bus (operated by Map Co., Ltd.) to Ichinose. Then transfer to a shuttle bus to Bettodeai. This bus operates only on car-restriction days (mainly weekends and holidays).

2. Going: Komatsu Sta. → Bettodeai

From Komatsu Station, take the Hakusan Tozan Express (shared taxi, operated by Komatsu Taxi, reservation required) directly to Bettodeai.

3. Return: Bettodeai → Ichinose → Kanazawa Sta.

From Bettodeai, take the shuttle bus to Ichinose. Then transfer to the Hakusan Tozan Bus to Kanazawa Station (or Matto Station). Operates on car-restriction days and the day after.
