Mt. Hanamagari (鼻曲山) is a 1,655m peak on the border of Gunma and Nagano Prefectures.
The name derives from the mountain’s shape resembling a bent nose; it is selected for the 100 Famous Mountains of Kanto, the 100 Famous Mountains of Gunma, and the 100 Famous Mountains of Shinshu. From near the summit, views extending to Mt. Asama, Mt. Myogi, and the Northern Alps can be enjoyed. Early-summer renge-tsutsuji (azaleas) are also a highlight.
The convenient route is by Aka Bus from Karuizawa Station to the Old Usui Pass.

To the starting point Old Usui Pass (Miharashi-dai / Kumano-Kotai Shrine), access via the seasonal Karuizawa Aka Bus.
For the descent point Naga-hinata bus stop, use the Kusakaru Kotsu local bus (from Karuizawa Station North Exit Platform 2 / Kusatsu Onsen direction).
